Mrs. Hosick's Grading Policies
I use the following district grading scale:
A = 90%-100%
B = 80%-89%
C = 70%-79%
D = 60%-69%
F = 59% and below
Bellevue Public Schools believes that the purpose of grading is to measure and communicate student achievement.
Class assignments, homework, quizzes, and other activities contribute to a student's grade. These are considered Formative Assessments and will account for 30% or less of the student's final grade. Summative Assessments will account for 70% or more of a student's grade, and may take the form of projects, papers, tests, or other performance tasks designed to measure student learning. These will include all Essential Objectives.
Assignments are typically due at the beginning of the next school day, unless prior arrangement was made with the teacher. When students are absent due to illness, it is highly recommended that missed assignments be made-up and turned in within 2 days. Any assignment not turned in will go into the grade book as incomplete (INC) until it has been received. All assignments not turned in by the end of the quarter will result in a failing grade (50%) on that assignment. Students are allowed to redo most assignments in which they score less than a 70%.
